Team Pedercini Kawasaki’s season was not easy in both WSBK and STK1000.

Team Pedercini Kawasaki’s 2014 season saw the Italian squad involved in both the eni FIM Superbike World Championship (EVO class) and the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup, with mixed emotions and a different outcome than what the team expected at the beginning of the year.

“You know, Luca (Scassa) broke his pelvis bone while testing at Phillip Island” said Team Manager Lucio Pedercini. “Then, once he was back to full fitness, he got the same injury again during a CRT test at Mugello. It was not good for us, because our plan at the beginning was to take the most out of Luca’s experience and speed whilst letting Alessandro Andreozzi learn his way around. Not having Luca for almost the whole season surely did not help. Andreozzi has a great talent but the first WSBK year is never easy. He showed great speed but he often found himself riding on his own during races and of course, he had a lot to learn.”

Despite a very disappointing end of the season, Lucio Pedercini rates the work done by Lorenzo Savadori in STK1000 highly: “On the STK1000 side of things” continued Pedercini, “I think we did a very good job with Lorenzo (Savadori). We were unlucky not only at Magny-Cours but also at Imola, when he was forced to retire due to a minor technical issue whilst comfortably leading the race. He has been very strong throughout the whole season and I’m very happy with what he’s done this year. We as a team have been fighting for the title for the last three years and we will try again in 2015.”

With the silly season underway, Lucio Pedercini is still trying to finalise the team’s plans for next year: “We are in talks with many riders, we want to improve our team but we will stay with Kawasaki. I think with the new rules there will be the chance to do a good job. Our plan is to have two riders in WSBK and at least another two in STK1000 to try and win the title.”
